Tim Semelroth
Tim Semelroth is an Iowa native and lifelong resident of the Hawkeye State. Tim is the oldest of the five children of Dick and Pat Semelroth of Hiawatha, Iowa. Tim is a graduate of Cedar Rapids Regis High School, where he met his future wife, Jenni, in study hall. Tim went to college at Drake University in Des Moines and attended law school at the University of Iowa. After Tim graduated from law school, he and Jenni returned to Cedar Rapids, where they continue to live and raise their two children, Samantha and Joseph. In his free time, Tim enjoys coaching middle school and high school mock trial (click here for a magazine article about Tim’s mock trial activities), playing sand volleyball and cheering for the Hawkeyes.Immediately after law school, Tim served as a federal judicial law clerk for Judge John Jarvey, who is now serving in the Southern District of Iowa. After his clerkship, Tim was hired by Cedar Rapids attorneys, John Riccolo and (now Iowa Court of Appeals Judge) David Baker. Since 1998, Tim has devoted his legal practice to representing seriously injured Iowans and their families in claims against insurance companies. In 2005, Tim became one of only 20 Iowa attorneys inducted into the national Million Dollar Advocates Forum for verdicts and settlements in excess of a million dollars. In 2006, Tim was invited to join the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers, an invitation-only organization limited to the top 250 trial attorneys in Iowa.
